Hydraulic hose burst valves are flat seat valves which are operated by flow. They work to prevent uncontrolled and undue movement in the user unit, as a result of hose breakage. These styles of valve are particularly useful when it comes to load-transfer, and are often supported by overcentre valves.

These designs of valve offer special advantages which make them extremely useful in load-bearing systems. Due to their unbeatable fast response times, these models are extremely safe. Their compact designs allow them to be mounted directly into cylinders and unauthorised adjustment of these valves is impossible once it has been integrated into a system.
During the normal operating conditions of a system, these valves are kept in the open position. The closing element is forced, and kept, in the open position by a spring force, but only so long as the force of the spring itself is greater than that force acting on the closing element.
Hydraulic hose burst valves are particularly suitable for elevating platforms, scissor lifts, bridge cranes and forklifts, due to their safe and responsive design.
