Splined Sleeves

Flowfit supplies a range of splined sleeves for hydraulic, agricultural, industrial, construction and mobile machinery applications. Designed to connect compatible splined shafts, these components provide a compact and secure method of transmitting rotary power between hydraulic pumps, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical drive equipment.

Our range includes internally splined sleeves, weld-on spline sleeves and hydraulic pump spline couplings in a variety of spline standards, profiles, tooth counts, lengths and outside diameters.

How Splined Sleeves Work

A splined sleeve has an internally splined bore that engages with a matching externally splined shaft. The corresponding teeth distribute torque across several contact points, helping to create a strong and reliable drive connection.

Some sleeves are used to connect two matching splined shafts, while weld-on splined sleeves can be incorporated into fabricated shafts, hubs and custom drive assemblies.

For correct fitment, the spline standard, profile, tooth count and tolerance must match the mating shaft. Components with the same number of teeth may still be incompatible if they use a different module, pitch or spline standard.

Common Applications

Splined sleeves are commonly used in:

  • Hydraulic pumps and motors
  • Agricultural machinery
  • Construction and plant equipment
  • Hydraulic power packs
  • Industrial machinery
  • Mobile hydraulic systems
  • Gearboxes and drive assemblies
  • Fabricated shafts and hubs
  • Custom mechanical transmission systems

They are suitable for applications requiring a secure connection between compatible externally splined components.

Choosing the Correct Splined Sleeve

When selecting a splined sleeve, check the spline standard, spline profile, number of teeth, internal diameter, outside diameter and overall length.

For weld-on sleeves, it is also important to confirm the sleeve material, installation method and suitability for the intended fabrication process. If replacing an existing component, compare its markings and dimensions with the product specification before ordering.

Choosing the correct spline specification helps ensure proper engagement, dependable torque transmission and reduced wear within the drive system.

Small differences in spline profile, tooth count, tolerance or dimensions can determine whether a sleeve is suitable for your equipment. Our experienced team can help you compare DIN and SAE spline standards, identify the correct profile and check product dimensions for replacement or new-build applications.
