Mechanical Clutch Assemblies
Mechanical Clutch and Hydraulic Pump Assemblies
Flowfit supplies complete mechanical clutch and hydraulic pump assemblies for marine, agricultural and industrial applications. Each assembly combines a robust mechanical clutch with a matched Group 1, Group 2 or Group 3 hydraulic pump, providing a convenient solution for controlled hydraulic power transmission.
Available in a range of pump displacements and flow rates, these assemblies are particularly suited to marine winches, windlasses, deck machinery, agricultural equipment and industrial hydraulic systems.
How Does a Mechanical Clutch Pump Assembly Work?
The mechanical clutch connects and disconnects the power source from the hydraulic pump. When engaged, rotational power from an engine, motor, pulley drive or gearbox is transferred to the pump, producing hydraulic flow for the connected equipment. Disengaging the clutch allows the pump drive to be stopped when hydraulic power is not required.
This arrangement gives the operator reliable control over the hydraulic system while helping reduce unnecessary pump operation and component wear.
Available Pump Groups, Displacements and Flow Rates
Our mechanical clutch assemblies are available with Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 hydraulic pumps. Product options cover multiple displacements and flow rates, allowing the assembly to be matched more closely to the requirements of the hydraulic circuit.
Selected assemblies are supplied with Walvoil hydraulic pumps. The product title and specification table identify the pump manufacturer, pump group, displacement and stated flow rate for each model.

Choosing the Correct Mechanical Clutch Assembly
When selecting an assembly, check the required pump group, displacement, flow rate, operating speed and direction of rotation. The hydraulic system pressure and intended duty cycle should also be considered to ensure the pump is suitable for the application.
